Position Overview:
This is a full-time position located in Reston, VA. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Produce (analyze, design, develop and test) quality level code (forms, reports, packages) from specifications provided by the team and/or the team lead
  • Review code from peers, with special attention dedicated to testing new code or modifications to existing code to eliminate errors before they reach the official testing environment
  • Participate at joint application development meetings and make suggestions on possible improvements and enhancements
Experience Requirements
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience using Oracle Application Express Development (APEX), strong knowledge of features in version 4.2 and/or 5.0
  • Understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling is a must
  • Knowledge of software quality testing principles and techniques and configuration management is required
  • Experience and ability to document application test results, application changes/updates, new application development
  • Experience with Oracle Relational Database Management System - 10g, 11G or newer
  • Experience in Oracle database backend development - SQL, PL/SQL
  • Experience using web-based development tools like HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS in conjunction with APEX
  • Experience working in an Agile environment or knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus
  • Experience using web-based development tools like AJAX, XML, and JSON is desired
  • Exposure to test scripts involving Open Source tools like Selenium
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation
  • Ability to work with customer to develop/document development requirements
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with team members or customer to complete assigned development tasks
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required
  • Strong trouble shooting skills
  • Must have a positive team player attitude
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to learn and/or improve new technologies, tools etc.
  • Previous exposure to a mixed team (gov./contractor) will help
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner
