Position Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
 
  • Provide administrative and clerical human resources support for the COO and Director of Human Resources.
  • Ability to help implement human resources programs by providing human resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations; completing personnel transactions.
  • Continued involvement in and refinement of the recruitment process, including generating job descriptions, posting advertisements, and managing the hiring process.
  • Create, update and coordinate candidate pipeline in preparation of interview dates
  • Prepares the offer letter package and distribute to candidate with all pre-employment paperwork
  • Create and Maintain employee files and the HR filing system.
  • Maintain the HRIS system in regard to on-boarding, off-boarding, new hires, status changes, pay changes, personnel actions, terminations, benefits, personal information changes/updates
  • Create, review, verify, process and maintain documentation relating to HR activities, to include but not limited to FMLA, personnel, I-9s, new hire reporting & terminations, benefits, unemployment benefit claims and other HR functions
  • Composure and confidentiality required to handle disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Compliance with all policies and legal requirements.
  • Perceptive nature, careful monitoring of working conditions to ensure legal compliance.
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Human Resources Management, preferred
  • At least three (3) successful work experience as a Human Resources Specialist, officer, administrator or other HR position.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and legislation affecting employment, benefits, etc. (FLSA, EEOC, OSHA, ADA, FMLA, etc.) required
  • Experience with HRIS databases as well as web-based recruiting tools such as LinkedIn; DICE; ZipRecruiter; etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.
  • Strength of character, ethics, and commitment, and reliability.
  • HR Credentials (e.g. PHR from the HR Certification Institute) preferred
  • Previous work experience in a government contracting firm as it relates to HR preferred
 
Desired Qualifications:
 
  • Experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO)
  • Experience maintaining records required for DSS reviews
  • Familiar with government contracting requirements as related to security
  • Active security clearance
