NIS is seeking an experienced Technical Proposal Writer to support a growing federal government contractor. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Technical Writer will coordinate, write, track progress, edit, and package a variety of technical documents for proposal responses to our customers (U.S. Government) – Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotes (RFQs), Request for Information (RFI), etc.
  • The Technical Proposal Writer will interface and work with the rest of the Bids and Proposals Team and the Business Development Team in writing technical proposal, interacting with project management, operations' staff and technical subject matter experts to interpret RFPs and analyze the proposal's requirements to determine the best value or solution approach and write-ups to ensure a compliant response while positioning the company for a positive evaluation.
  • Must be proactive in conceptualizing and developing strategic solutions and win themes for task order proposal and large IDIQ, multi-faceted proposals that include past performance, technical volumes, and management volumes
  • Must have the ability to organize material and complete writing assignments according to RFP requirements regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • The candidate must be able to edit, standardize, make changes or write up draft and finalized materials prepared by other writers. Must have the ability to take "bullet points" or “talking point” from others and then write up contents to meet RFP requirements.
  • The candidate must be able to learn the process to create and submit responses involving internal systems and solutions in a format that meets requirements and evaluation criteria identified in the requests
  • Support long-term strategy development including methods and approaches to achieve company new business objectives and will provide status to the Director of Business Development as well as the President/CEO
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Business Management, Administration, Marketing Communications, IT Services, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience specifically as a Technical Proposal Writer in a fast-paced, deadline driven, high-volume proposal environment for a federal support services contracting firm
  • Experience specifically as a Proposal Technical Writer in a fast-paced, deadline driven, high-volume proposal environment for a federal support services contracting firm
  • Critical attributes include exceptional communication, teamwork, flexibility, organizational capacity, ability to motivate and energize team participation
  • Must have the technical ability to learn, interpret and write in a fast moving proposal team efforts
  • Proven ability to conceptualize and write compelling, marketing-oriented proposal narrative as required
  • Has the initiative and ability to think creatively and work under time constraints and tight deadlines
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office business applications
