Position Overview:
Nationwide IT Services, Inc (NIS) is in search of a Project Manager ready to support our client in Rockville, MD.

Roles and Responsibilities: 
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities across all phases of the system development life-cycle (SDLC) for multiple Releases within the constraints of the scope, resources, time, and budget
  • Ability to lead dynamic, energized, and highly creative multidiscipline high-performance work teams in learning and applying new skills/techniques to respond to business needs.
  • Leadership skills including: coaching, organizing, integrating, directing, controlling, and motivating.
  • Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and persuade customers, employees, and management at all levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with team members to achieve objectives and deliverables
  • Ability to effectively arrange resources and manage small to moderate maintenance projects in a cross-functional environment, work flow balancing, activity scheduling, problem resolution and flexibility, including the use of MS Project 
  • Ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives, possess good technical skills including scheduling, estimating and costing
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Knowledge of technology product offerings and experience with hardware, software and software development methodologies is helpful in order to understand the impact a new project will have on a Release and other project’s deliverables during a Release
  • Proficiency in project management planning and estimation tools.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the client
  • Serve as the liaison between the client and assigned staff to ensure clear and consistent communication
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Project and task management experience successfully delivering projects on-time, within budget and in scope
  • Managing teams of resources, including sub-contractors, and providing leadership and mentoring to the staff as needed
  • Developing new opportunities with existing and/or new clients
  • Provide technical input to the project team utilizing industry standards
  • Understanding of .NET development, SQL Server, and Windows Server environment
  • Experiences managing software development project using Agile or Scrum.
 
Minimum requirements:
  • B.S. degree in an IT related field
  • PMP Certification
  • US Citizenship or Green Card
  • Ability to pass a federal government background investigation 
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive relevant technical experience
  • Current experience managing federal civilian agency government software development contracts
  • Experience managing technical staff including developers, testers, business analyst as well other software development delivery staff
  • Experience in healthcare IT, solutions and/or services focused federal agencies 
 
Preferred skills:
  • Experience with US Department of Health & Human Services
  • Experience with different types of government contract types (ex. Firm-Fixed Price, CPFF, T&M)
  • Experience managing customer, multi-contractor and other stakeholder communications
  • Proven experience in growing a client relationship and creating opportunities in adjacent markets
