Position Overview: Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Subject Matter Expert to support a new task order on its flagship contract. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge/experience of Oracle, specifically around migration from Oracle 19C to other enterprise databases such as SQL Server. The Oracle Database SME will be responsible for supporting a time-sensitive database migration effort, collaborating with other technical staff and will report to the Task Lead and Program Manager on project status/updates/issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on Oracle enterprise databases and related tools/technologies
Collaborate with other Database Administrators and Database Developers to assess/identify as-is and to-be states for existing and target databases and plan/document/execute migration strategy
Provide insight/guidance to technical team in support of migration efforts
Identify improvement opportunities with migration and assist technical team with using best practices to migrate from Oracle to other enterprise databases
Assist with troubleshooting issues that may arise during migration task
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
8-10 years of SME-level experience with Oracle enterprise databases and related tools/technologies
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and GitLab
Working knowledge and experience working on development teams using software development methodologies/processes and best practices, such as Agile/Scrum and DevOps
Hands-on experience with Oracle to SQL Server database migration and
Excellent written/verbal communication and multi-tasking skills
Must be US Citizen or Authorized to Work in the United States.
Ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust clearance
