Nationwide IT Services  is seeking an NMOTC Help Desk Technician/ Communications Specialist to become a part of a close-knit group of professionals to support the Navy in San Diego, CA.

The Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC) supports Navy Medicine’s life-saving mission by training these medical professionals for theater-specific contingencies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical communication and media support services during core business hours.
  • Provide training as Subject Matter Expert for 10 enterprise video teleconferencing systems and maintaining wireless telecommunication solutions; Investigate and document technical malfunctions to determine cause, define the problem and initiate corrective action reporting conclusions to the Onsite Project Task Lead.
  • Work with site helpdesk technicians to resolve issues that need to be escalated for resolution or assistance.
  • Troubleshoot mobility/smart/cell phone technical functions to resolve issues.
  • Assist users in gaining access to remote access applications, install required software, train users and resolve technical issues.  Manage all accounts and equipment configurations for mobile devices.  Provide all technical support for commercial wireless services at enterprise locations.
  • Perform all setup and configuration of command audio/video/web conferencing/media service equipment and train users to manage interfaces when needed.
  • Perform inventories of NMOTCENT IT assets, provide all tracking documentation to the Business Services team and properly dispose of IT assets IAW with all security and disposal regulations.
  • Perform onsite support of workstation/laptop/tablet installation and setup of all classroom equipment.
  • Knowledge of IT hardware and software management principles, methods and procedures for troubleshooting issues with audio/video/web teleconferencing capabilities and smart phone technology.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide general technical assistance to all levels of personnel.
  • Manage network equipment and capabilities for daily operations.
  • Configure PCs, workstations, laptops and tablets.
  • Resolve technical issues related to communication and media support services.
  • Manage email accounts and groups using Active Directory and DEPO systems.
  • Maintain server hardware, file format by filename extension, application and web content and virtual server/machine operations.
  • Assist with equipment inventory and secure IT disposal principles and methods.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio and PowerPoint daily.
  • Resolve issues involving streaming video, graphic design, web enabled graphic tools, interface development and content management systems.
  • Understand DoD Information Assurance criteria, network and web security principles and protocols and the ability to apply these standards.
  • Interpret DoD/DON/DHA/BUMED/NMOTC policies, procedures and standards to ensures conformance with network information assurance policies and standards.
  • Provide effective communication, customer service skills and team building skills.
  • Understand military leadership and the NMOTC mission.
  • Site visits are required to provide onsite support as needed to nearby NMOTC enclaves.

Requirements
  • Active Secret clearance
  • CompTIA Security+ ce or similar DoD IAT LVL II certification.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred / 3 years of DoD industry experience or 5 years of general IT support.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and set priorities.
  • Good attention to detail and quality.
  • Flexibility and strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, ability to work individually and with a team.
